$55,000 with 1 point to the dollar spent anywhere else $27,5000 with 2 points to the dollar spent at supermarkets and gas stations $4,583 with 12 points to the dollar spent at MGM resorts $13,750 with 4 points to the dollar spent at MGM resorts Using this article from The Points Guy (who I find to be pretty reliable on most point-related travel topics) and this description of the MGM Rewards MasterCard benefits, I calculated the 55,000 tier credit difference between Pearl and Gold can be made up of some combination of the following: They've also decreased the benefits for MGM rewards members with the change of their M Life program. The one downside of MGM Rewards is that they aren't upfront on their website (and never have been, in my experience) about how many tier credits are the equivalent of one dollar. It seems like now regardless of status (I've gone between Pearl and Gold over the last two years), I get more comp night options at more MGM hotels, and more complimentary concert ticket offers because I'm a cardholder. Some of the perks I started getting weren't until I got the MasterCard, even though I worked my way up to Pearl with slot play and resort spending a while back. If that's not something you already hold, the MGM Rewards MasterCard will, as you said, auto bump you to Pearl and you can work your way up from there. If you're a Hyatt Explorist status holder, you can match your status to the Gold level at MGM.
